Introduction
The Noble Dhamma School is an educational initiative established under the guidance of Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery of Brisbane, dedicated to imparting Buddhist teachings and moral values to the younger generation. Rooted in the principles of Theravāda Buddhism, the school aims to nurture a generation of individuals who embody wisdom, compassion, and ethical living.
Vision & Objectives
The vision of the Noble Dhamma School is to cultivate a spiritually aware and morally upright community through the study and practice of the Dhamma. The school aspires to:
- Guide students towards a life of mindfulness, kindness, and wisdom, enabling them to
contribute positively to society. - Provide structured Buddhist education based on the teachings of the Buddha.
- Instil ethical and moral values in students.
- Encourage mindfulness, loving kindness, altruistic joy, equanimity, and meditation as tools for personal growth.
- Create a supportive environment for spiritual development.
- Promote understanding and respect for Buddhist traditions and practices.
- Foster a sense of community among students, teachers, and families.
Curriculum
The curriculum consists of :
- Buddhist History and Life of the Buddha
- Dhamma Teachings
- Five Precepts and Ethical Conduct
- Meditation and Mindfulness Practices
- Chanting and Pali Language Basics
- Application of Dhamma in Daily Life
- Interfaith Understanding and Compassionate Living

Classes are held every Saturday (except the first week of the month) from 5:30 pm to 07:30 pm at the following location:

Open to children aged 5 and above. Parental consent is required for students below 18 years. Please complete the online
Enolment Form. Alternatively, Download the application form, complete it and email it to info@mahamevnawabrisbane.org.au.
Annual Events & Celebrations
Noble Dhamma School organises the following events:
- Annual Examination: Assessing students’ knowledge and understanding.
- End-of-Year Cultural and Talent Show: Showcasing students’ skills and knowledge.
- Vesak Celebrations: Commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of the Buddha.
- Poson Celebrations: Remembering the introduction date of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
- Katina Ceremony: Supporting the monastery through robe offerings and almsgiving.
- Dhamma and Meditation Retreats: Providing immersive learning experiences.
- Parent-Teacher Meetings: Annual meetings to discuss student progress.
- Volunteer Service Projects: Encouraging students to engage in community service.
